Tavis Piattoly

What role do nutrition and dietary habits play in the athletic performance of high school and college athletes? Sports dietitian and nutrition consultant Tavis Piattoly, MS, RD, LDN, provides essential insights into effective products, supplements, and strategies beneficial to this demographic.

As the Sports Dietitian and Education Program Manager for the Taylor Hooton Foundation, Piattoly educates athletes, coaches, parents, and healthcare providers on the risks associated with Appearance and Performance Enhancing Substances, the safety of dietary supplements, and the fundamentals of sports nutrition.

His impressive experience includes serving as the Sports Dietitian for the New Orleans Saints from 2006 to 2013, and for the New Orleans Pelicans from 2008 to 2013. Additionally, he played a significant role in developing nutrition programs at Tulane Athletics between 2002 and 2014 and contributed to the NFL Players Association Brain and Body program at the Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine from 2013 to 2016. Throughout his career, he has crafted nutrition plans for numerous athletes, including Olympians, NFL players, and professionals from major leagues, as well as various college and high school teams.

Additionally, Piattoly is a member of the Science Advisory Board for both Examine.com and Nordic Naturals, and previously served on the Sports Medicine Advisory Board for the Louisiana High School Athletic Association from 2008 to 2015.
