How Dangerous Are Steroids?

Donald Hooton, Jr.

Life can shift dramatically in an instant. In July 2003, as he was about to graduate with a business degree, Donald Hooton, Jr. received devastating news from his sister: their 17-year-old brother Taylor had tragically taken his own life. The most shocking aspect for the family was the realization that Taylor’s suicide was linked to the use of steroids.

Initially, the Hooton family struggled to connect the dots. However, they soon discovered critical information about the psychological implications of steroid use, as well as its alarming prevalence, which far exceeded their initial assumptions.

While grappling with their loss, the family could never have foreseen how their sorrow would eventually lead to positive changes impacting countless individuals. Today, Donald actively leads the Taylor Hooton Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded by his father, Don, to honor his brother’s memory.

In this compelling podcast, listeners can hear from Donald, Jr. as he discusses his mission to transform his family’s tragedy into a beacon of hope for families both in the U.S. and internationally.

Donald reflects on his brother daily, expressing, “I hope he’s proud of the work we’re doing and how his legacy has evolved to save lives. Every time his story is recounted, I hope it creates a meaningful impact.”

The Taylor Hooton Foundation serves as a vital resource for education on the dangers of appearance and performance-enhancing drugs. For additional information or to arrange anALL ME® Assembly Programat your child’s school, please visitwww.taylorhooton.orgorwww.allmeleague.com.
