Lightfarms_houseOn the subject of education…your child will benefit from an excellent schooling experience at the new Light Farms Elementary School. This institution is part of the distinguished Prosper Independent School District (ISD) and is set to open at the start of the fall semester. Known for its high standards, this rapidly expanding district is recognized among the top in the nation. Acknowledging that quality education significantly contributes to a thriving community, the Dallas-based Republic Property Group (RPG) developed Light Farms with safe access for children to walk or bike to school. RPG has generously donated 11 acres and $2 million to Prosper ISD for the construction of the elementary school, with additional plans for more educational facilities and childcare options in future phases. For families with teenagers, the new Prosper ISD high school, which cost $113.5 million, is conveniently located nearby.

RPG Marketing Coordinator Stephanie Liebbe explains that the vision for Light Farms is to “redefine suburban living for families.” Launched in 2012, this award-winning Collin County community aims to “foster a sense of togetherness that promotes a vibrant way of life,” as Liebbe notes. To support this initiative, community gatherings—including concert series, farm-to-table events, field days, and movie nights—are arranged at the central lawn. The Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program offers residents access to fresh organic produce shares, which can be ordered online, courtesy of local farm Johnson’s Backyard Garden. This CSA hosts sessions every Saturday from 9 AM to 12 PM at the Farm Stand located in the central Barn Yard. Focused on providing locally sourced natural foods and products, the Farm Stand also features a natural food co-op that stocks offerings such as grass-fed beef, organic dairy, coffee, nuts, and skincare items. These programs are available to all residents of Light Farms and the surrounding community.

Light Farms also emphasizes wellness for its residents with a state-of-the-art fitness center, four luxurious pools, and four tennis courts, along with upcoming amenities such as basketball, bocce ball, and soon-to-be-added pickleball and sand volleyball courts.

Connecting families with nature, the scenic hiking and biking trails woven throughout Light Farms promote an active lifestyle, complemented by a bike-sharing initiative for convenience. The community also boasts 132 acres of beautifully maintained green spaces, complete with a greenbelt, playgrounds, pocket parks, and an extensive lake system.
