The Kerr County Flood Relief Fund is dedicated to aiding recovery and rebuilding efforts following the catastrophic flooding that took place on July 4, 2025.
Kerr County, situated in Texas, has been declared in a local state of disaster due to the perilous flooding conditions caused by the heavy precipitation from Thursday, July 3, into the morning hours of Friday, July 4.
In response to this critical situation, Judge Rob Kelly issued a disaster declaration noting that the severe weather has led to extensive damage, injuries, and loss of life, with further threats anticipated.
The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office has reported multiple fatalities; however, additional details will be provided later, pending notifications to the families concerned.
Emergency responders are actively engaged throughout the county, addressing rescue operations and responding to urgent calls.
Recent assessments indicate that the Guadalupe River has risen to over 39 feet, exceeding the second-worst flood in the county’s history, which occurred in 1987.
Mayor Joe Herring, Jr. has encouraged residents to contribute to the Community Foundation serving the Texas Hill Country.
This Community Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) public charity that aims to allocate donations to vetted organizations involved in rescue, relief, and recovery initiatives, including support for flood-related issues. The Fund will aid the areas of Hunt, Ingram, Kerrville, Center Point, and Comfort. Contributions are tax-deductible, and donors will receive a receipt for their generosity.
Grants provided by the Fund will assist nonprofit organizations, first responders, and local government entities engaged in the response and recovery processes. While grants cannot be awarded directly to individuals or families, nor can they be used for repairing private property or replacing personal items, we are focused on directing support to trusted partners that are devoted to helping those in need within our communities. Together, we have the potential to create impactful change in this difficult time.
