Rush season brings a thrilling experience! While each college has its unique procedure for recruitment, they share many similarities. Some institutions adopt a more relaxed, casual atmosphere, whereas others uphold a strict formality. The scheduling can vary widely; some start in August while others commence in the spring. Most universities provide a Panhellenic website detailing the recruitment process and offering outfit suggestions for each day. Be sure to submit your recommendations to Panhellenic promptly and embrace the experience!
It’s essential for both you and your daughter to approach this with an open heart. Even if you were a Pi Phi at Ole Miss, that chapter might differ significantly at the University of Michigan. The key is for your daughter to choose a sorority that aligns best with her own personality.
Outfits from senior prom or homecoming might not be appropriate for rush. Think of it more as “lunch attire” rather than revealing outfits or shorts.
Consider engaging an outside opinion to mitigate the stress of choosing appropriate attire. Maintaining peace and harmony between mother and daughter is vital, and advice from a professional stylist can be invaluable. The goal is for your daughter to really shine throughout this journey!
The following outfit suggestions correspond to the rush timeline at the University of Texas:

Welcome to the exhilarating first day of rush! This day consists of visiting various sorority houses. You will be given a t-shirt, so team it up with your favorite shorts and comfy shoes. Don’t forget your sunscreen!
