Officer Christopher Bianez Named 2017 Outstanding Crime Prevention Specialist

On July 27th, the Texas Crime Prevention Association hosted an awards luncheon during which Officer Christopher Bianez was honored as the “Outstanding Crime Prevention Specialist” of the year. He was distinguished over his peers in the large agency category across the state. “We take great pride in his achievement and are privileged to have him as an integral part of our department, dedicated to serving our wonderful community,” expressed Public Information Officer David Tilley from the Plano Police Department.

Officer Bianez has been with the Plano Police Department since 1997 and currently works in the Crime Prevention Unit, focusing on safety education for tweens, teenagers, and adults. In addition to his police duties, he conducts trampoline and martial arts workshops designed to empower adults to prevent becoming crime victims. Bianez is committed to enhancing safety for families, properties, neighborhoods, and businesses.

He also previously served on the Editorial Advisory Board of Themerrythought MAGAZINE.

Drawing from his own challenging experiences, Bianez frequently visits Plano schools to share his story as a guest speaker. He encourages students to recognize that despite adversity, they can lead fulfilling lives. He reminds them, “Good people do exist in the world. Not everyone is evil. It’s all about making the right choices.”

For Christopher Bianez, life has come full circle as he transforms past hardships into lessons for others. “What I perceived as my greatest challenge turned out to be my biggest blessing,” Bianez reflects. “It became the pivotal moment that defined my mission: to empower youth to lead lives free from drugs and violence.”
