COMPLIMENTARY DRESSES & ACCESSORIES

The prom season can be an expensive time for many families, but for the past seven years, St. Andrew United Methodist Church has been a source of support for teenage girls facing these costs. Their Prom Closet offers free dresses and accessories to those who may struggle to afford them. Last year, 678 girls benefited from this initiative, receiving attire and accessories generously donated by community members, local organizations, and businesses. Many of the available dresses are brand new and come in various sizes.

“The Prom Closet has proven to be an exceptional way to give back to our community,” stated Devra Helffrich, one of the founders of the program. “This year, thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our donors, we are primarily seeking contributions of accessories, including shoes, wraps, jewelry, and handbags.”

Donations of accessories can be dropped off at Room 126 on weekdays, located at 5801 W. Plano Parkway. For more information, visit www.standrewumc.org or call 972-380-8001.

Girls interested in participating are welcome to visit St. Andrew to pick out their dresses and accessories on shopping days: March 24-26 from 4-8 p.m. and March 28 from 9 a.m. to noon.
