30thanniversary of Coca-Cola Scholars program

The Coca-Cola Company USA has rolled out a groundbreaking initiative aimed at encouraging youth in Dallas to assist the nearly 100,000 veterans residing in the DFW region as they transition into civilian employment. Titled Dear Future Dallas, this program is a facet of Coca-Cola’s national endeavor to empower America’s youth to reinvigorate their communities.

Dear Future Dallas builds upon the well-knownCoca-Cola Scholars*program. In honor of its 30thanniversary, the company is collaborating with Scholars to motivate young adults, aged 18-24, nationwide to contribute ideas geared towards revitalizing and enhancing their communities through the Dear Future Challenge. Dallas is one of 15 cities selected where participants can present their proposals addressing local issues. More information on each community’s challenge topics can be accessed via www.coke.com/dearfuturecommunity.

Each selected winner from these communities will receive a one-time grant of $30,000 to bring their proposal to life, alongside opportunities to collaborate with prominent leaders from Coca-Cola Northern New England, Coca-Cola Scholars, and various community partners.

“Dallas and CCSWB have been dedicated to aiding veterans in finding civilian employment, but our efforts are far from over,” remarked Ish Arebalos, Director of Public Affairs at CCSWB. “With nearly 100,000 veterans in Dallas, we recognize the value of the unique skills and leadership qualities they bring to the workforce. Dear Future Dallas will channel the enthusiasm and dedication of young individuals to lead innovative solutions and fresh perspectives on this critical issue.”

To take part in the Dear Future Dallas challenge, young adults between the ages of 18 and 24 can submit their concepts online or present them live at campuses across North Texas this fall. The challenge will conclude in mid-October, after which CCSWB and The Coca-Cola Company will award $30,000 to the most impactful idea. The selected winner will be matched with mentors from Coca-Cola Scholars and local nonprofits to assist in actualizing their vision.
