Transformative Self

We encourage you to use these journal prompts as a tool for self-reflection, allowing you to navigate significant emotions in your life.

In a discussion with renowned psychologist and academic, Ethan Kross, it was revealed that journaling stands out as a powerful method for emotional regulation. Surprisingly, it remains underused. The reason for this may lie in the fact that journaling demands time and dedication; we must pause, thoughtfully examine our feelings, and articulate them on paper.

Nevertheless, if we can overcome the initial reluctance often associated with tackling challenging tasks and recognize the profound impact journaling can have on our happiness and resilience, we can cultivate it into a rewarding habit we engage in regularly. Whether you’re beginning your journaling adventure or you’re already experienced, here are some of our cherished prompts to inspire your writing!

**Big Emotions**

Which emotions do I struggle to accept and sit with?

How do I typically respond to these emotions when they surface?

What are my deepest fears, and how do they influence my life? What loss am I dealing with that I haven’t fully confronted?

What do I need right now, and how can I fulfill that need for myself?

**Relationships**

Who do I consider my greatest source of trust, and what makes them special?

Are there friendships that I feel are no longer serving me? What are my feelings surrounding that?

What lessons do I wish to impart to my current or future children?

What recurring patterns do I observe in my past relationships?

**Happiness**

What small moments of joy do I often overlook in my daily life?

What is an activity I could engage in today that would delight my 8-year-old self?

Does my happiness depend on doing, or can I find it simply in being?

What fond memory from my childhood brings me warmth and joy?

**School/Work**

Where do I envision myself in a decade? What is the difference between my ideal scenario and my reality?

Do I feel overwhelmed or fatigued by my job? If so, what are the reasons behind that?

What expectations do I feel pressured to meet, and where does that pressure originate?

How would my approach change if I believed that rest could also be productive?
